LocalPulse for hotels

Know which nights the city will fill, before your competitors’ rates tell you.

Hotel demand is mostly made somewhere else: a congress at the convention centre, a stadium tour, a rugby international, a school holiday in the country your guests fly from. LocalPulse reads those signals for your patch, measures how much each one has moved your own rooms in the past, and puts the next ones on a calendar with an expected effect.

What moves your trade

The drivers that matter for hotels

  • City-wide events

Conferences, concerts, sport and festivals, weighted by expected attendance, distance from you and how much that crowd stays overnight. A 3,000-delegate congress next door can matter more than a 60,000-seat match across town.

  • Holidays at home and abroad

Public and regional holidays where you are, and holidays in your guests’ home countries. Tell us your guest mix by country (or let us estimate it) and we track the share of your foreign guests who are on holiday on any date.

  • Holiday eves and long weekends

Arrivals cluster the night before a holiday. LocalPulse models the eve separately from the day itself, because they usually move in opposite directions for city hotels.

  • Disruption

Rail and air strikes, airport closures, storms and road closures, picked out of local news, dated to when they hit, and confirmed by you before they are counted.

Questions it answers

Ask it about your own days.

  • Why did we sell out on a Tuesday in March?
  • Which nights in the next quarter look compressed, and why?
  • How much did the last big concert actually add, compared with a normal Saturday?
  • Are our overseas guests’ school holidays about to start?

What you bring

  • Daily rooms sold or occupancy from any PMS export (CSV)
  • Optional booking dates, for an “on the books” view of the forecast
  • Optional guest country (we keep counts by country only)

No data yet? A pulse report scores the next 60 days for your town from the signals alone.

A demo business, not a customer. Its weather and holidays are real; its events calendar is a realistic approximation; its rooms sold are synthetic, generated from known effects plus noise so you can check that the model recovers them.

  • August festivals and Hogmanay are among the biggest positive swings.
  • Murrayfield internationals and stadium concerts appear as one-night spikes.
  • Conference weeks at the EICC lift midweek nights.
