Features
Explain the past. Plan for what’s coming.
LocalPulse reads the weather, events, holidays and news for your town, measures what each one does to your own trade, and turns that into explanations, forecasts and a briefing you can act on.
Explain
Why every busy and quiet day happened
Click any day and see its swing against a normal day for that weekday and season, split into the drivers that caused it.
Driver attribution
Each day’s difference from normal is broken into weather, events, holidays, holiday eves, disruption, school holidays, payday weekends, visitor-market holidays and news, each with its own percentage.
The unexplained part, shown
Whatever the drivers don’t account for is shown as a grey “unexplained” share rather than being hidden or forced onto a driver.
Research this day
For a swing the model can’t explain, LocalPulse searches the web for what happened locally that day, checks the evidence against the dates, and either logs it or asks you to confirm.
Suggestions from local news
Headlines rated as locally relevant but not certain enough to log automatically are queued for you to confirm or dismiss.
Plain-English summaries
A written explanation of any day or week, grounded in the numbers on screen. It says when the data doesn’t explain a swing instead of guessing.
Forecast
What’s coming, with the reason attached
A day-by-day forecast against a normal day, with each peak and dip labelled by the drivers behind it.
Weather-aware for 16 days
The first 16 days use a live weather forecast. Beyond that, known events and holidays still move the line and typical weather is assumed, with a wider range.
Days to plan for
The unusual days ahead are pulled out into a short list, so you can see at a glance which dates need more staff, stock or a rate change.
Accuracy on your own data
We hold back your most recent weeks, forecast them from the data before, and show you the error beside a simple four-week average. If the simple average wins, we say so.
On the books
Import booking dates as well as stay or pickup dates and the forecast can account for what is already booked.
Signals
Your patch, read every day
LocalPulse keeps a shared calendar for each town or city, so every business in it starts with the same picture of what is going on.
Weather
Temperature against the seasonal normal, rain, wind and sunshine: two years of history for every place, and the 16-day forecast.
Holidays and term dates
Public and regional holidays, holiday eves, and school terms where we can find them.
Local events
Concerts, sport, conferences, festivals and markets, sized by attendance and distance from you, and rated for how much that crowd uses your kind of business.
News and disruption
Local headlines triaged one by one for relevance and direction, and dated to when they actually hit.
Visitor markets
Holidays in the countries your customers come from, weighted by your own customer mix.
Add what we missed
Log your own events, or add a page that lists what’s on in your area. Pages you add help every business in the town.
Act
Briefings for the people who run the floor
The point of knowing why is deciding what to do next week.
Briefing email
A short summary of the busy and quiet days ahead and what is driving them, weekly or daily depending on your plan.
Map of what’s on
Upcoming events on a map around your business, with rings at 1, 3 and 10 km.
Teams and roles
Invite colleagues as owners, admins, members or read-only viewers. Seats depend on your plan.
Several locations
Each location gets its own model and its own patch; Pro and Group plans hold several under one account.
Your data
Aggregated by design
We need daily totals to learn your patterns. We don’t need, and don’t keep, anything about your customers as people.
Any CSV export
Drop in an export from your PMS, POS or rental system. LocalPulse detects the date columns and formats, and shows you a preview before anything is saved.
Daily totals only
Raw rows are read during import and thrown away. We store one number per day, plus optional counts of customers by home country.
No names, no phone numbers
If your export contains guest names or phone numbers, they are never stored. A phone number’s country code can be counted; the number itself is discarded.
Start without any data
A pulse report scores the next 60 days for your town and business type before you upload anything.
