LocalPulse for car & campervan rental

Your renters decide in another country. Watch their calendar too.

Rental demand starts at the airport, so much of it is set by what is happening in your customers’ home countries and by the big events that pull visitors in. LocalPulse tracks holidays in each of your visitor markets, the events and conferences that bring fly-in crowds, and the eve-of-holiday pickup rush, then forecasts pickups with those reasons attached.

What moves your trade

The drivers that matter for car & campervan rental

  • Holidays in your visitor markets

Give us your customer mix by home country (we can count it from a country or phone column at import, keeping counts only) and we track how much of that mix is on holiday on each date.

  • Fly-in events

Festivals, motorsport, major sport and large conferences that bring people in from out of town, weighted by size and reach.

  • Pickups before holidays

Pickups bunch on the day before a public holiday or long weekend. The eve is modelled separately so the forecast shows the real peak day.

  • Travel disruption

Airport and airline disruption, strikes, road closures and severe weather warnings, from local news, confirmed by you.

Questions it answers

Ask it about your own days.

  • Which overseas school holidays are about to land on us?
  • How much did the Grand Prix weekend actually add?
  • Which pickup days in the next 90 days look unusual, and why?
  • Is a quiet fortnight down to us, or to the calendar?

What you bring

  • Daily rentals started (pickups) or vehicles out from your rental system export (CSV)
  • Optional booking dates, so the forecast can show what is already on the books
  • Optional customer country, kept as counts by country only

Lone Star Car Hire, Austin

A demo business, not a customer. Its weather and holidays are real; its events calendar is a realistic approximation; its rentals started are synthetic, generated from known effects plus noise so you can check that the model recovers them.

  • SXSW, Austin City Limits and the Formula 1 weekend stand out as event peaks.
  • Pickups rise on holiday eves and fall on the holidays themselves.
  • Conference weeks at the convention centre lift weekday pickups.
